Can the sewer line run near the fresh water line without risk?
Yes, if there is at least one metre horizontal separation between the pipes. We always position sewage below fresh water so any leakage from drain pipes does not contaminate the supply. Horizontal separation protects against lateral seepage.
What if we dig the trench during rainy season when the ground is wet?
We lay coarse gravel under the pipe to drain groundwater and protect the trench base from mud. If water pools in the trench, we use a temporary suction pump until we install the pipe, then cover it immediately with clean sand.
