How do we stop drain smells entering upper units through the shared stack?
Each fixture in the unit has its own air break that lets air in but blocks odours from returning. We install these breaks at the right height above the overflow level of each sink and toilet.
If we add a new bathroom to the unit, can it use the existing supply pipes?
We first check the existing pipe diameter and water pressure at its end with no additional load. If pressure is adequate we cut the pipe and install a compatible tee branch. If pressure is low we need a new supply line from the tank.
