Can we raise the shower base if the floor trap is far away?
Yes, but raising it increases the fall needed in the waste pipe. We calculate distance and height first, and distances over two metres may need larger diameter pipe to prevent blockage.
Does water leaking under the base mean the shower is faulty?
Not always, it may be insufficient fall or a partly blocked trap. We run high flow water for a time then check the trap outlet to confirm drainage speed is adequate.
