What sets this area apart

Why did my toilet pan crack on its own?
A rigid mortar bed or overtightened bolts put stress on the china. Small movements in the floor then open a crack, often starting at a fixing hole.
Is a hairline crack in the pan urgent?
If it is below the water line or at the outlet, yes, because it will seep. A crack high on the rim is cosmetic but tends to spread.
