What is safe pressure for buried farm irrigation pipes?
Most irrigation lines run at six to eight bar depending on well depth and tank distance. We measure pressure with a gauge on the well head and slow the pump if it exceeds safe limits. High pressure breaks weak pipes and wastes energy.
What if we do not know where the buried pipe runs?
We use a metal detector and inspection camera to trace the pipe from the well opening to the field. We sketch a rough map of its route so you can avoid it when ploughing or digging. If the route is very old we recommend replacing that whole section with a new line.
