How do we find which unit is causing the leak in shared housing?
We start from the roof by closing individual stopcocks for each unit one by one while watching the leak point. When we close a stopcock and leaking stops, that unit is the source. We then go down to that flat and repair the leaking joint.
Can a broken copper pipe be repaired without replacing the full section?
If the break is small and in the middle of a horizontal pipe, we use a metal patch with strong solder compound. But if the break is at a joint or in a vertical pipe, we replace the section entirely to ensure no further leaks.
