Should we clean out the old pit before installing a new pump?
Yes, accumulated sediment and silt reduce the pit working volume and block drain pipes. We empty it completely and dispose of sludge with a specialist truck, then inspect for cracks before reinstalling.
What is the difference between a dry pit and a wet pit when choosing a pump?
A dry pit sits above groundwater and the pump draws from a separate small sump. A wet pit is flooded with groundwater and the pump suctions directly from the pit bottom. In Rabiya we typically use a wet pit because groundwater is very high.
