Can a guide rail be added to an existing pit in my Rumaithiya villa?
In most pits, yes. We check the depth, the opening size and the discharge position, then fit the rail and coupling when the pump is next removed.
Is stainless steel really necessary for the pit fittings?
Near the seafront it is the sensible choice. Plain or galvanised chain and brackets rust inside a sewage chamber, and a snapped chain makes the next removal much harder.
