Do I need to drain the old tank before removal?
Yes, we close the cold-water isolator, open the kitchen and bathroom taps to release pressure, then open the bottom drain cock and let the tank empty fully before disconnecting the pipes.
Can I mount the heater on an outside wall in direct sun?
Direct sun is best avoided because it heats the tank and wastes energy, but if necessary we fit a reflective thermal shield on the sun-facing side to reduce excess heat gain.
