How do we route pipes when the floor slab is thick and tight?
We measure the gap between slab and soffit first. If less than 15 cm we build a timber or metal chase box on the floor and run pipes through it. The box cover goes on before tiling starts.
What if the main waste stack is far from the kitchen?
We run a larger-diameter pipe across the floor or wall towards the stack. The gradient must stay between 25 and 50 mm per metre throughout. If the distance is very long we propose a secondary vent riser.
