Does desert dust enter the cabin through small openings?
Yes, strong winds force fine dust through gaps. We use extra rubber seals at glass-frame joints and recommend weekly cleaning of openings. If winds are severe, installing an external mesh screen significantly reduces dust entry.
Does the drain line need protection from sand and debris?
Yes, we run it inside a metal pipe 3 millimetres thick or more and add a metal cover at the trap. We clean it manually every six months by pushing a flexible rod through or using pressured water. The trap itself gets a small iron grate to prevent animals and sand from entering.
