Can the pan be raised without breaking the existing floor tile?
If the tile under the current pan is strong, we pour a new cement bed over it and set the new pan on top. But thin or cracked tile must be removed first before laying the new base.
What if the old vertical pipe is embedded deep in a thick concrete wall?
We test the old pipe with water from top and bottom before installing the new pan to confirm it is sound. If water flows freely, it serves the new installation and no digging is needed.
