Do old tanks need cleaning before the pump goes in?
Yes, if the tank has gone unmaintained for years it will hold algae and rust sediment at the bottom. We brush the base clean and pump out the foul water before installing the new pump.
If the copper pipes are very old must we replace them all?
Not always. We test pressure and flow first, and if the pipes are clean inside we keep the old copper. Where we find heavy deposits we replace only the vertical sections.
