Should the old concrete foundation be cleaned before placing the new tank?
Yes, we scrape the base free of dirt, salt and surface rust with a wire brush. A clean base ensures good contact between tank and foundation and prevents new water seepage.
Must old copper pipes be replaced when a new tank is installed?
Not necessary if the pipes are sound and free from leaks and blockages. We pressure-test them first, and if they pass we keep them and carefully connect the new tank lines to prevent oxidation.
