Can the gas line run underground to the kitchen instead of under the ceiling?
This is not permitted in residential kitchens because gas is heavier than air and will pool downward if leaked, and underground runs increase risk. We run the line under the ceiling or along the wall so any escape rises upward and ventilation draws it out.
How often should the gas line be checked each year?
