Will rust return beneath the new coating?
Existing rust is completely removed during scraping and sanding. Epoxy coating prevents water and oxygen from reaching fresh iron, so rust does not restart as long as the coating remains intact and gap-free.
If the coating cracks in year one, must the entire job be redone?
Small cracks in year one are rare if prep is done correctly, but we inspect the tank free with camera after six months. If we find a crack we repair it with spot epoxy coating only.
