If the crack is very long and high on the tank, can it be welded from outside only?
If the crack is above the outlet point, we only need to dry the outside surface and weld from outside carefully. But if it runs below the waterline, we may need to drain some water or open the tank from inside for better access.
Do long cracks need special filler material or is simple welding enough?
For cracks over fifteen centimetres we add a strong resin filler alongside thermal welding to prevent the crack reopening. For shorter cracks, thermal welding alone is enough if the surface is spotlessly clean and dry.
