Why do sand and silt block the pump inlet in deep Qibla wells?
Deep boreholes bring water laden with fine particles suspended from the rock. We fit a strainer basket at the base of the suction line to trap these particles before they reach the pump, stopping blockage and premature wear.
Does a feed pump need a separate filter system or is the strainer basket enough?
The strainer basket stops coarse sand only. If water is very turbid we add a sand or carbon filter after the pump to clean the water before it enters the upper tank.
