Can the pump be fitted inside the sump pit instead of outside?
Some newer systems allow it, but this limits access for maintenance. We prefer mounting it outside the pit on a secure base to ease cleaning and repairs.
What happens if the non-return valve fails?
Wastewater flows back from the main into the sump pit and fills it quickly overnight when the pump shuts down. We replace the valve at once and drain the returned water before restart.
