How high must the tank be above the flats to ensure adequate water pressure?
Each metre of height gives roughly one-tenth of atmospheric pressure. We measure from the tank bottom to the highest tap in the building, and nine metres usually provides reasonable pressure.
Can the tank sit in a corner of the roof instead of the centre?
Yes, but the concrete base must be perfectly level and the roof sound with no sag. A corner near the main entry shortens the feed line and makes maintenance easier.
