Should the old AC unit be moved to make room for the new tank?
Only if the AC is scheduled for relocation already. We usually prefer mounting the tank in the available corner and leave the AC in place to avoid opening new walls.
How long can the overflow line run from tank to roof drain?
Usually no more than three metres with a continuous downward slope. If the distance is longer we use a larger diameter pipe to prevent blockage from algae or dust buildup.
