How do we avoid crossing plumbing lines with electrical and air conditioning runs?
We get a separate drawing for each trade before starting and mark crossing points on the slab. Plumbing usually runs in the first layer under concrete, and electrical and HVAC run above with safe clearance. Coordination with the contractor prevents collisions.
What is the minimum distance between hot and cold water pipes?
The minimum is 10 centimetres to prevent heat transfer from hot to cold lines. In very tight spaces we use thermally insulated pipes or install a metal shield between them. Testing reveals any heat loss before handover.
