Does white salt crust around the crack mean the tank is too old to repair?
Not necessarily. Salt deposits show the leak has been ongoing but do not mean the tank is failed. We remove salt with a wire brush and dilute cleaner, then weld the crack and service continues.
Can a water tank be welded while it still contains water?
No, the tank must be completely drained before welding starts. Water prevents adhesion and causes hot steam leakage. We open all outlet valves and let the tank dry fully before work begins.
