Can a crack at the tank bottom be welded or must the whole tank be replaced?
If the crack is in the flat base area, we can weld it, but if it runs along the base edge where walls meet, the weld may weaken under water pressure. In that case we recommend replacing the tank instead of a weld that fails weeks later.
How long does welding a crack and refilling the tank take?
Prep, cleaning and drying take fifteen minutes, the weld itself takes minutes depending on crack length, and testing under refill takes another quarter hour. Total is usually thirty minutes to one hour depending on crack size and location.
