Can each apartment have its own isolated PEX run, or must all units share a common feed?
Each unit receives separate branches from the main riser in the service shaft. This allows isolation of water supply to each unit and protects neighbours from pipe failures. An isolation valve sits before tubing enters each apartment.
Do flexible tubes create noise when water rushes through at high pressure?
The tubes themselves are quiet, but loose runs vibrate and strike walls as water surges. We secure PEX with clips every metre and place rubber pads under each clip to absorb vibration. We also test pressure regulator function to ensure no surging hot water jets from valves.
