Yes, PEX is rated for both hot and cold water and handles high temperatures. It expands rather than cracking under thermal change and resists mineral scale build-up better than galvanised iron pipe.
Can PEX be run in an occupied flat without heavy breaking?
In many cases yes, because the pipe's flexibility lets it route through tight paths. The extent of breaking still depends on where the existing lines sit and what finish material covers them.
What is the difference between a press fitting and a crimp fitting on PEX?
A press fitting is closed with a powered press tool and gives an immediately verifiable seal. A crimp fitting uses a metal ring tightened with a crimping tool. Both are reliable when applied correctly.
How is a PEX network pressure-tested and what does it show?
The line is filled with water and raised to above working pressure for a set period. Any drop on the gauge points to a weeping joint, caught before the walls are plastered over.
Can a PEX network connect to both the roof tank and the ground tank?
Yes, the network is designed to serve both tanks with separate isolation valves for each source, so either line can be serviced without cutting water to the whole building.
