Can a new basin be installed in the exact same position as the old one without any breaking?
Usually yes, if the new basin dimensions match the existing waste and supply positions. Small differences in mixer hole spacing or waste outlet height may need a minor adjustment but rarely require wide breaking.
Why does an odour come from under the basin some time after installation?
The most common cause is the trap seal drying out from infrequent use. Running the tap usually restores it. If the smell persists, the rubber seal inside the trap has likely deteriorated and needs replacing.
Do you supply the basin or should I provide it?
You can supply the basin yourself or arrange for us to source it. Either way, the fixture should be on site before the appointment to avoid delays on the day.
What happens if the existing supply pipes behind the wall are old galvanised iron?
Old galvanised iron corrodes internally, narrowing the bore and reducing pressure at the tap. We recommend replacing the exposed section with PPR or uPVC during the installation to restore proper flow.
Can a pull-out spray mixer be fitted on any washbasin?
Not always. The basin needs a deck hole sized for the mixer base, and pull-out hoses need enough clearance below the basin. This should be confirmed before purchasing the mixer to avoid a mismatch.
